Social Media Master - Wk 5: Encourage engagement

We like to practice what we preach here at Handle. As a small business ourselves we like to use our own Handle account to monitor our digital profile. This is the fifth instalment of a weekly series reflecting on how I have used our Handle social report to improve our strategy and gain results.

Hopefully, this will give you ideas for your own social strategy and help you further understand how you can use Handle to your advantage. This week I have focused on increasing our engagement score.

To improve our engagement rating, I conducted some analysis into post reach and engagement rates. I found the posts that are engaged with by our own employees, were reaching a further field than any other post. Because of this I looked into the use of micro-influencing and employee advocacy programmes.

By encouraging our office to engage with the content our posts increases our possible reach from 250ish people up to 6,635!

To make sure that the office is encouraged to engage with posts, a leader board and reward scheme is now in place. At the end of every two week period, whoever is at the top of the leader board, compiled of average reach and engagement will get a reward of cake which is generally all our team need to keep them interested. This is something you can easily do in your own business to instantly amplify your social reach.
