Coming hot on the heels of the new, updated Handle website report, is another exciting new feature that allows you to check where your website ranks in the search engines for specific, valuable keywords.
Get found by your potential customers
Ranking for your business name is one thing, but the majority of online searches are done by people looking for answers to questions and solutions to problems. Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the act of effectively answering the questions your prospective customers have so that your business is found more often in the search engine results.
To help you understand how well you are answering the questions your prospects might have, Handle now lets you see where your website ranks for up-to 20 different keywords or phrases every month. Track your current ranking performance and see how your SEO activity is helping you climb the rankings across Google and Bing or identify new areas or niches that you aren’t currently ranking for but could be a valuable way to reach new potential customers.
How do I check a search term?Below the search position for your business name you’ll see a button to ‘Check a different search term’. Click that and you will be able to type in a new search term. Here you can input whatever keyword or phrase you like and see where you are currently ranking in Google and Bing.
You can check up to 20 different keywords or terms a month, but you can only check 1 keyword or phrase at a time. Every time you run a keyword search we’ll update your ranking for that keyword, so we’d recommend using our rank tracking worksheet to record your search positions overtime.
When you reach your 20 phrase limit unfortunately you’ll have to wait until your report refreshes next month.
When checking your search engine ranking, we will be analysing the website URL that you provided when you set up your Handle account. If you can’t remember what URL you used to set up your account you can go to ‘My Account’ and then go to the ‘My Reports’ tab, where you will find your website report information.
How can I improve my SEO?Knowing where your website currently ranks for keywords and search terms will allow you to check on your current performance and identify opportunities.
To help you make any necessary improvements, Handle offers you a personalised action plan helping you focus on the weaker areas of your websites SEO. This is where you will gain access to specific resources, tools and services to help you climb the rankings and reach more people.
When your report refreshes each month, you can then go back reanalyse your target keywords and compare your position overtime to see if you have climbed or fallen down the ranks.
